Matt Grzelcyk has inked a deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins for a one-year deal at $2.75 Million AAV.
He will join the Pittsburgh Penguins as they re-tool the roster in the hopes that
Sidney Crosby can one day, lift a Stanley Cup once again.
Not only that but Kyle Dubas can add his name to the ever-elusive cup.
In doing so, he added grizzled defenseman and former Boston Bruin Matt Grzelcyk, whose been a Boston Bruin his entire career.
With the major change, Grzelcyk will also change his number from the #48 he wore with the Bruins, and will halve it to wear #24.
We don't know if that is the reason he went from 48 to 24, but do the math.
Anyways, maybe its just a sign the Penguins are half the team the Bruins are.
Grzelcyk played 63 games for the Boston Bruins in 2023-2024 scoring 11 points(2 G, 9 A) with a +13 rating on ice.
