Auston Matthew expected to be named captain by the Toronto Maple Leafs
The Toronto Maple Leafs are expected to announce a new captain on Wednesday and it is reportedly gonna be Auston Matthews.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have made some big changes this off-season and it started with firing Sheldon Keefe not long after they were eliminated in the playoffs by the Boston Bruins.
Their next big change is stripping John Tavares of the captaincy and naming Auston Matthews their next captain, and Darren Dreger announced that it is supposed to be confirmed on Wednesday.
Reportedly John Tavares fully supports this move by the Toronto Maple Leafs organization and it just makes you wonder what his future with the team looks like, as this off-season there have been a lot of rumours about the Maple Leafs making some big changes.
