Free agency plans were leaked and it is seeming like it might be officially over for Joel Edmundson and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Joel Edmundson is a pending UFA and recent reports have suggested that Edmundson has informed the Leafs he will be testing free agency on July 1st to see what his options are looking like.
David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period has reported that he has expressed interest in returning to the Toronto Maple Leafs, but wants to see what his options are come free agency.
Edmundson is a big shut down defensemen with some experience as he won a Stanley Cup with the St. Louis Blues in 2019, and the Leafs brought him in at the trade deadline for his experience, ultimately they would lose to the Bruins in 7 games during the first-round.
Edmundson spent most of his time on the third pair in Toronto and would probably like to see if he could get a bigger role with another team in the off-season.
