There is a high chance that one of Los Angeles' new players, Tannner Jeannot is set to receive a suspension after receiving a match penalty for a dirty hit to Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser's head.
After taking a hit like that to the head, there is a good chance that Brock Boeser could have suffered a injury, it's clear this hit was dirty as he would receive a five minute major and a game misconduct for the hit.
Here is the hit in question:
You can clearly see in real time that the point of contact was Boeser's head, and you have to imagine that the NHL Players Safety is going to take a look at it, which should lead to a suspension. But you know how the Player Safety is, recently they have been letting a lot go, and you just hope that they do something about this.
It was clear that Brock Boeser was shaken up from this hit, as he was laying down on the ice following it waiting for the medical staff to help him out. After the medical staff came out to help Boeser out, he would go down the tunnel to be evaluated.
Later on NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, along with the Vancouver Canucks both provided an update on Brock Boeser stating he would not return to the game. Friedman also pointed out that because Jeannot was given a match penalty, there will be an automatic review from the league.
Personally I think Jeannot should be suspended for a minimum of 3 games, the NHL has stated they want to move on from these types of hits, and need to start punishing players that continue to lay them. But like we have seen before the Player Safety makes a joke out of themselves quite often, and he will more then likely just get a slap on the wrist with a one game suspension.
