The Vegas Golden Knights are already in injury trouble for the 2022-23 season, with captain Mark Stone and goaltenders Robin Lehner and Laurent Brossoit all missing significant time.

Over this summer, it was also revealed that Vegas management has a history of completely mishandling players and that free agents are actually avoiding the club due to the front office.

Those issues have continued with the latest reports regarding restricted free agent Nicolas Hague. Vince Sapienza of FOX Sports was the first to report:

It does not sound like things are progressing at the moment between the Golden Knights and RFA Nic Hague re: a new contract.

I'm told there has been ''very little dialogue since early July.''

Hague is in Vegas, ready for the start of training camp on Sep. 21st, but his camp is ''getting concerned with the lack of communication.''

It's my understanding if there is no deal reached by then, he will not report to VGK camp and train elsewhere.

As per Sapienza's reports, there has been no progress on contract talks, and Hague's representation is apparently growing more and more concerned by the lack of dialogue, especially this close to training camp. Further to reports, Hague is in Vegas and ready for camp, however, if no deal can be made, he will not report, which would be a significant blow.

Hague was originally selected in the second round (34th overall) by the Golden Knights at the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. In 142 career games, the 23-year-old has recorded 10 goals and 32 assists.
