The Vegas Golden Knights traded forward Evgenii Dadonov to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for defenseman Shea Weber on Thursday evening.
Vegas confirmed it on Twitter, and the Anaheim Ducks social media team responded with a simple but hilarious question.
If you didn't know, the Ducks thought they acquired Dadonov from the Golden Knights at last season's trade deadline. However, Anaheim was on his modified no-trade clause, which Vegas was not aware of, so the deal fell through right at the cut-off time.
