Scary scene from Tampa Bay, as the Edmonton Oilers are visiting the Lightning tonight.
A little over five minutes into the second period, Evander Kane was involved in a collision with defenseman Philipp Meyers and goes down hard. As he was down, his exposed left wrist gets skated over by Patrick Maroon.
As per Mark Spector of Sportsnet:
Positive thoughts for Evander Kane here.
Maroon mistakenly cuts Kane's wrist with skate. Lots of blood - immediately.
Gene Principe reports, when Kane got to room, he heard ''Help! Help! Help!''
*WARNING* There is a large amount of blood.
As you can see, Maroon knew immediately what had happened and appeared to be visibly shaken. As was everybody in attendance, the rink was dead silent for a good amount of time.
Here's another closer angle:
I know Evander Kane isn't a well-liked guy around the league and it's fanbase, but you don't wish anything like that on anybody!
