Pacioretty is a known sniper and could be a hot commodity for the next team that signs the veteran.
But the last three seasons have been troubling for the winger, as he's suffered a regression due to an injured Achilles.
He would return to action with the Capitals only posting 23 points( 4 G, 19 A) and was obviously still healing from his torn ACL, a usual career-ending injury.
While he may not be the consistent 30-goal scorer he once was, he could rebound next season in the right situation.
Could the Bruins find a way to sign Patches and give the Bruins another goal-scoring forward in the lineup?
It'd be a coup for Don Sweeney to be responsible seeing Pacioretty through a resurgence in the NHL.
The veteran winger has drawn plenty of interest lately from other original-six squads, including the Red Wings according to The Athletic's Arthur Staple.
For Sweeney, this could be a real buy-low situation, but the upside could be huge if Pacioretty is back to form.
