Boston is moving pieces around after making a few deals on Monday.
The Boston Bruins have demoted three players to the Providence Bruins in reaction to the different acquisitions the franchise made prior to the NHL trade deadline.
The three players being reassigned to the AHL are forwards Jack Studnicka and Marc McLaughlin as well as defenseman Jack Ahcan. Boston was in a tight cap situation following its latest deals.
All three players were on the ice for Bruins morning practice in Montreal, so the move is only on paper.
It's a smart and calculated decision by GM Don Sweeney as it allows all three to be elligible for the AHL playoffs.
