The Colorado Avalanche and St. Louis Blues started their second-round matchup last night in Denver.
Blues' forward Brayden Schenn was given a high-sticking penalty with 1:19 left in the third period when the score was 2-2, and he was not happy about it.
Check it out here:
St. Louis would make it to overtime and kill off the remaining 41 seconds of Schenn's penalty in the extra frame as well, so the penalty didn't end up costing the Blues. It appears that Brayden Schenn had an okay case to be upset about the call, but his stick does hit Avalanche defenseman Josh Manson in the face. Was it questionable to call a penalty on this play that late in a tied playoff game?
The Avalanche would eventually win the game 3-2 in the first overtime to take a 1-0 series lead on the Blues.
