One of the most undisciplined players on the Bruins this series has been forward Trent Frederic. Frederic played 10:52 in game one and collected ten penalty minutes and one shot on net. In game two, Cassidy only played the youngster for a total of 5:47 of time on ice, where he had two penalty minutes in ten total shifts.
Here's what head coach Bruce Cassidy had to say about Frederic's series so far:
Cassidy announced that veteran forward Chris Wagner will draw into the lineup Friday night, and Frederic will be the odd man out. Tomas Nosek will move up to the third line to play with Charlie Coyle and Craig Smith, while Wagner will be on the fourth line.
Wagner played one NHL game this season with the Bruins, which was the last regular-season game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. He had 15:57 of time on ice where he was minus one, mustered two shots on goal and had eleven hits.
He has also played in 56 career playoff games, where he has collected 7 goals and 1 assist but has a total of 167 hits in that span. That's an average of just under three hits per 11 average minutes of ice time a game. Wagner is a veteran that knows his role.
Chris Wagner will bring some much-needed physicality and playoff experience to a Bruins lineup that looks uninspired right now.
Bruce Cassidy also noted that "The Perfection Line" of Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron and David Pastrnak will be back together, and Mike Reilly is in for the injured Hampus Lindholm for game three.
