Some news out of Edmonton Monday morning, as the club has announced an extension for one of its best young players.
Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman broke the news that was first reported by his 32 Thoughts partner Jeff Marek:
Skinner has taken over the starting goaltender job for the Oilers after a horrible start from the newly signed Jack Campbell. In 19 games, the 24-year-old has a 9-8-1 record with a 2.83 GAA and a .915 SV%.
The Edmonton native was selected by his hometown team in the third round (78th overall) in 2017.
