Easily the most controversial of reviews in the NHL is on goaltender interference challenges by head coaches. You never know what the outcome is going to be on any given challenge.

After the Boston Bruins tied the game at 2-2 late in the second period on a powerplay goal by Jake Debrusk, Carolina Hurricanes bench boss Rod Brind'Amour decided to challenge the play for goaltender interference.

Watch the play here:

I believe Brind'Amour was trying to say that Debrusk pushed Antti Raanta's pad sideways, which caused the puck to come loose, but you can clearly see that Raanta never had it covered and actually doesn't even know where it is.

NHL referees are famous for blowing goaltender interference calls all the time, as they are never consistent with what constitutes the interference or not. It's nice to see them get one right!

Brind'Amour was clearly frustrated after it was deemed a good goal, and with the failed challenge are now shorthanded for Delay of Game. On the powerplay, Hurricane's forward Sebastian Aho caught Bruins' captain Patrice Bergeron with a high-stick above the right eye and was given a double minor for it because Bergeron was bleeding.

Brad Marchand has made it 3-2 for the Bruins just 43 seconds into the third period.

This is a crucial moment for a shorthanded Boston team to take every advantage an undisciplined Carolina team is giving them. If the Bruins can capitalize, they may be going back to Raleigh with the series tied back up at two!
