Back in November of last year, former Boston Bruins forward Daniel Paille took a vicious hit in the Champions Hockey League out in Europe by Thomas Larkin.
Paille had to be helped off the ice and many were calling for Larkin to be suspended for the season, however he only ended up getting four games.
Now it seems like he'll likely be forced into retirement because of the hit.
With no return date in sight, his contract was canceled for the season and he won't even attempt any sort of hockey activity in the next while as he still rehabilitates from the absolutely inexcusable hit.
The hit was actually so bad that Swedish police launched an investigation, but nothing came from it.
Sad news to pass along as Paille's hockey career might over.
