It was common knowledge that Leon Draisaitl of the Edmonton Oilers was basically playing on one leg throughout the second and third rounds of the 2022 Stanley Cup playoffs.

He and the Oilers managed to get to the Western Conference Final, where they lost to eventual Stanley Cup Champions, the Colorado Avalanche.

And as Draisaitl revealed on the latest episode of ''32 Thoughts'' with Elliotte Friedman and Jeff Marek, Calgary was targeting his high ankle sprain all series long (which many teams do). However, all that obviously didn't phase the German superstar as he was still able to break an NHL record by recording at least three points in five straight games, totalling 17 points in a 4-1 series win over the Calgary Flames.

As per Draisaitl:

''I was laughing when we played the Flames, and some of them started hacking my left ankle, and I was like, 'I don't know what you are doing here.' ''
