Jim Montgomery is off to a terrific start in his first season as head coach of the Boston Bruins. Through the first 20 games of the 2022-23 season, his club is 17-3-0, and several of those wins, especially early on, came without crucial players.
Now, Bruins fans get an inside look at what Montgomery said to the team to inspire them to their hot start, and one line, in particular, stands out:
Of course, Montgomery is referencing the team starting the season without key players like Charlie McAvoy, Brad Marchand and Matthew Grzelcyk.
They found a way to win without all of them in the lineup, and they've found ways to win without other guys like Brandon Carlo, David Krejci, Jeremy Swayman and Derek Forbort, who have been hurt early this season.
