The Dallas Stars took a 2-1 series lead over the Calgary Flames on Saturday.
While most NHL fans and experts had pegged the Stars as an easy first round opponent for the top-ranked Flames, the Stars have been playing some tremendous hockey.
However, the Dallas squad had to beat both Calgary and the refs on Saturday. Dallas held a 1-0 lead in the middle of the first when Calgary tied things up on a controversial goal.
Former Bruins teammates Tyler Seguin and Milan Lucic, now playing for Dallas and Calgary, respectively, were at the center of it all.
Seguin led Lucic towards his goaltender's crease, where Lucic clearly made contact with netminder Jake Oettinger, but the referees still allowed the Flames' goal to stand!
You can check out the entire sequence here:
Should this goal have counted? Have the referees and league officials made the right call?
At this point there's nothing that can be done, but let's hope it doesn't become a turning point in the series!
