The World Series action took a wild turn on Tuesday night. While Los Angeles Dodgers star Mookie Betts made an impressive catch, a fan's outrageous behavior in the stands stole the spotlight-and it's now causing a stir on social media.

As Game 4 unfolded in New York, Betts leapt into the crowd to secure the catch. But in the process, a fan got in the way, interfering both before and after the play. That fan turned out to be Austin Capobianco, a former college hockey player from the University of Arizona, whose actions quickly drew criticism online.

"Well, A for effort."

Fan interference was called on this play where a Yankee fan tried to take the ball out of Mookie Betts' glove after an out.

Not taking this lightly, both the Yankees and MLB have responded by issuing a statement denouncing the fan's behavior. They've banned him from attending Game 5, the final home game of the series.

Statement from the Yankees regarding the two fans ejected from last night's game following the Mookie Betts incident:

Adding a new twist, former NFL star Rob Gronkowski shared that he knew the fan in question, revealing that Capobianco was a fellow student at Arizona. Gronkowski called Capobianco «a beauty» and added that this over-the-top enthusiasm is just part of his personality.

«Him doing that represents him very well. He is all in for his teams... He's a beauty,» Gronkowski said.

While it made for an unexpected scene, this incident sheds light on the unique challenges of crowd interference in baseball. Luckily, it's a rare sight in hockey, where fan involvement doesn't impact the game in the same way.
