Two months into the 2022-23 season, it appears that Nick Foligno is having more than just a hot start.

The 35-year-old is up to four goals and nine assists in 21 games, equalling his point total in 64 games last season (2G,11A).

However, just five months ago, the hockey world was suggesting the Boston Bruins get rid of the veteran (guilty as charged). Even NHL insider Frank Seravalli had the Boston Bruins winger on his top ten ''buyout candidate'' list.

As per Seravalli from July 1st:

"If next season is going to be one of pain for the Bruins, then they might as well hang onto Foligno for the final year of his two-year deal. Foligno has really struggled with his back injury, and that much was apparent, relegated to a fourth-line role with just two goals in 64 games."

Fortunately, Foligno, who is a steady fourth-liner, has proved all the haters wrong and is having an impressive season so far.
