Back in 2019, the Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs were getting set to play in game seven of their 2019 first-round series.
It started before the puck even dropped, though, when Justin Bieber posted a picture of the Maple Leafs logo on his Instagram, sending out a prayer for his hometown team to win at TD Garden in Boston.
With the caption:
Dear lord, please be with Austin Mathews, Mitch Marner and all of the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight as they play game 7 against the Boston bruins... After David Pastrnak and the Bruins handily defeated the Maple Leafs by a 5-1 score in the decisive game seven. The then 22-year-old right-winger took to social media to troll Bieber.
Pastrnak first tweeted at the singer after the game:
Later on in the evening, Pasta went even further with it and commented on Bieber's Instagram posts from earlier in the day. Pouring more salt into the wound of yet another game-seven loss at the hands of the Bruins for the Maple Leafs.
