The Penguins and Bruins were facing off for the final time this season.
Thursday night's showdown had a playoff feel to it, with both squads gearing up for their postseason appearances.
However, Boston couldn't get anything going in Pittsburgh. The Bruins heavily outshot the Penguins 52-31, but couldn't get anything past a red-hot Casey DeSmith between the pipes.
The B's instead had to sit back and watch forward Jake Guentzel strike three times for a hat trick.
