GOTTA SEE IT: Ryan Getzlaf honoured by Ducks in last NHL game of his career

On April 4th, Ryan Getzlaf announced that he would officially be retiring at the end of the 2021-22 NHL season. The longtime Duck played his last NHL game in a 6-3 loss to the St. Louis Blues on Sunday night.

Getzlaf finished the game with three shots and three hits in 21:14 of ice time, including a beautiful assist for his last in the NHL:

Getzlaf, from Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, was drafted by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the first round (19th overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut with the Ducks on October 5th, 2005. Getzlaf is the Ducks' all-time leader in games played (1,157), assists (737), and points (1,019). He led the Ducks in assists twelve times, including a franchise record of 66 in 2008�09, and in points eight times. He was also a Stanley Cup champion with the team in 2007.

Getzlaf had this to say after the game:

"This is a game that I've loved for so long, and I tried to give everything that I had every time I stepped on this ice ... I've been able to build this beautiful family next to me, and I'm just looking forward to that next chapter right now."
