In what may be a controversial decision to many, forward Jake Virtanen has potentially found a new home in the NHL.

After a couple of weeks of speculation, the 26-year-old is hoping that he has finally found a new place to play, as he's officially been brought to an NHL camp on a professional tryout.

As you may know, in January of this year, he was charged with sexual assault from an incident in September of 2017. On July 26th, Virtanen was found not guilty by a jury during a trial at a Vancouver court.

According to their official Twitter account, the Edmonton Oilers have announced that they have signed Virtanen to a PTO. Training camp begins in Edmonton later this week.

First, it was reported a couple of weeks ago that the Oilers were close to the PTO with Virtanen until he was linked to their rival Calgary Flames more recently.

The former sixth overall NHL draft pick spent last season with Spartak Moscow of the KHL after his contract was terminated by the Vancouver Canucks, and in 36 games, he recorded 9 goals and 7 assists.
