John Tortorella has been an NHL head coach for a long time now, and by now, everyone knows what they're going to get from him. Whether it be animated outbursts on the bench or his classic back-and-forth with media members, Torts is undoubtedly one that is afraid to show how he's really feeling.
The Philadelphia Flyers hired Tortorella after a terrible year in which the club finished with a record of 25-46-11 and in 29th place in the NHL. A true test of his abilities as a coach.
All those attributes of his that we've grown to love were portrayed perfectly in a recent interview with John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia. When asked if he has found something the Flyers are good at, an identity they can build on, he had a brutally honest answer.
And honestly, you wouldn't expect anything else from Tortorella. Another coach might beat around the bush and say there are many options, but not Torts. He tells the truth, whether it's good or bad.
