Boston Bruins number one defenseman Charlie McAvoy underwent off-season shoulder surgery after a nagging injury that was worsened during the team's playoff series against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Early reports were that McAvoy wouldn't be back until the New Year, and it slowly dwindled down to a mid to late-November timetable. However, the defenseman met with Bruins media recently and discussed the matter himself:
''It's hard to look that far into the future and to have that date circled. We're really just worried about one day at a time and making sure that we are stacking those foundation bricks ahead of each other.''
The latest on McAvoy's return is that he and the staff are aiming for a return just before or after the Thanksgiving weekend, which is the 24th of November. Fans would like to see the number one dman back as soon as possible, but we need him back 100% more than anything.
