Boston made some key acquisitions at the latest trade deadline and now has many guys fighting for their roster spot.

Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney made sure to add to his defensive core for the long run by making a few deals; one of those massive transactions being to bring in the top left-handed d-man on the market, Hampus Lindholm.

But Sweeney also needed depth and grit, which is why he made a deal with the Ottawa Senators to bring in 6'5'' blueliner Josh Brown.

Since both men have arrived in Beantown, the six-man pack the Bruins had been rolling with all season has been fairly shaken up. Mike Reilly went from being Charlie McAvoy's partner on the top pair to watching games from the press box, while the third pairing of Connor Clifton and Derek Forbort has played musical chairs with other d-men.

Following this morning's practice, Josh Brown shared some input on the B's ongoing battles for ice time:

"First and foremost, we're all teammates. We're all rooting for each other. But obviously there is a bit of a competition on the backend right now. So I just think you've got to have your A-game every night", said Brown

The newcomer went on to add that he had spent some time on a pair with Mike Reilly when both were playing in Ottawa, so there's a little chemistry there that they are still looking to work on.

Both Reilly and Brown will play tonight, while the regular top four of McAvoy, Lindholm, Grzelcyk and Carlo, remains intact.
