Colorado Avalanche goaltender Darcy Kuemper was injured after an inadvertent stick of Nashville Predators forward Ryan Johansen went through his mask and caught his eye.
That sidelined him for the rest of their first round series and again in game one against the Edmonton Oilers in the Western Conference Final.
Now for the first time, Kuemper revealed what his eye really looks like.
And it's gruesome
It's amazing he was able to play in the second round and the Stanley Cup Final.
