It is very likely that Evgeny Kuznetsov of the Washington Capitals will be hearing from the NHL Department of Player Safety after an incident in last night's game against the Vancouver Canucks.
During the second period, a frustrated Kuznetsov caught Canucks defenseman Kyle Burroughs in the face with a brutal two-hand slash. After Burroughs fell to the ice, he made sure to give him an extra such for good measures and raised his hands like he didn't do anything.
Kuznetsov received a two-minute minor on the play, but upon league review, he'll likely receive a suspension for what looks like intent to injure.
