The Carolina Hurricanes took Game 1 of the series on Monday night thanks to a convincing 5-1 win over the Boston Bruins. When you factor in their regular season matchups, that's four straight wins for the Canes over the B's.
In those four games, the Bruins have been outscored 21-2, as they continue to struggle with the fast-paced game the Canes keep throwing at them.
With that in mind, you can bet that the boys from Beantown will definitely be looking to do all they can to even the series up at one game apiece tonight.
Coach Bruce Cassidy has already confirmed that he will be sticking with Linus Ullmark, the NHL's hottest goalie during the month of April, for the second game of the series. Depending on the outcome, it'll be interesting to see if and how long he waits before he throws rookie Jeremy Swayman between the pipes.
Ullmark will once again be facing off against Carolina's Anti Raanta, who was sensational with a 35-save performance in Game 1. He continues doing a solid job filling in for Carolina's injured starter, Frederik Andersen.
Cassidy also noted that his roster would pretty much be the same in Game 2 as it was on Monday, with the only exception being a swap on the B's top two defensive pairs between Hampus Lindholm and Matthew Grzelcyk.
Unless other changes come before or after tonight's warmup period, here are the Bruins projected lines and pairings for Game 2:
Brad Marchand Patrice Bergeron Jake Debrusk
Taylor Hall Erik Haula David Pastrnak
Trent Frederic Charlie Coyle Craig Smith
Nick Foligno Tomas Nosek Curtis Lazar
Matthew Grzelcyk Charlie McAvoy
Hampus Lindholm Brandon Carlo
Derek Forbort Connor Clifton
Linus Ullmark
Jeremy Swayman
Puck drop for the Bruins-Hurricanes second game is scheduled for 7pm ET, at Carolina's PNC Arena.
