Gary Bettman and Bill Daly were made available to the media before game one of the Stanley Cup Final for their annual 'end of season remarks.'
Besides salary cap and league revenue news, Bill Daly made a huge announcement regarding the NHL and Russia, who is still invading Ukraine.
Daly stated:
"We made both clubs aware already that the Cup isn't going to Russia or Belarus. We may owe a Cup trip in the future."
The NHL previously announced it was suspending all business relationships in Russia and Belarus and pausing the use of social channels and digital media sites in those countries.
The Tampa Bay Lightning have three Russians on their roster: Nikita Kucherov, Mikhail Sergachev and Andrei Vasilevskiy.
While the Colorado Avalanche has two (one starter): Valeri Nichushkin and Mikhail Maltsev.
