The Toronto Sun (@TheTorontoSun on Twitter) reported that Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner was carjacked in a random gunpoint robbery on Monday evening.

The carjacking of Marner's Black Range Rover happened just 10 minutes away from where the Maple Leafs play their home games, the Scotiabank Arena, at approximately 7:45 pm EST.

According to The Sun, Marner was going to a movie with one of his friends when multiple men approached his vehicle wearing masks and demanded the vehicle. It was reported that there were three suspects involved, with two of them armed with handguns and another with a knife.

The Toronto Sun also reported that Marner turned the vehicle over willingly, according to Toronto police sources, and the suspects didn't know it was him. It was also reported that Marner was very shaken up by the incident but was not physically hurt.
