The Bruins top prospect will be representing his country in this year's IIHF World Under-20 Championship.

That's right. Fabian Lysell, Boston's first-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft, will be suiting up for Sweden in the tournament that's being held in Edmonton from August 9 to 20.

Lysell just ended a terrific rookie campaign in the WHL, leading the Vancouver Giants with 40 assists and 62 points in 53 regular season games. The 19-year-old was even better in the postseason, racking up another 17 helpers and 21 points in just 12 playoff outings.

Lysell will not be the only B's prospect suiting up at the World Juniors however. He will be joined by Riley Duran, a 20-year-old centerman who will be representing Team USA for the first time in his career.

Duran, who was taken by the Bruins in the 6th round of the 2020 Draft, just finished a solid rookie campaign with Providence College in which he scored ten goals and added nine assists.

The third and last Boston prospect ready to shine on the international stage is Denmark forward Dans Locmelis. The 18-year-old will have an opportunity to show the B's management what he's made of after being selected in the fourth round of this year's NHL Entry Draft.

Locmelis, who was a participant at the Bruins Development Camp last month, has announced he will remain in the U.S. in 2022-23 after joining the USHL's Youngstown Phantoms. He spent the past season in the Swedish Under-20 Hockey League, leading Lulea HF J20 with 18 goals and sitting second on the squad with 34 points in 44 games.

Duran is the only B's prospect hitting the ice today, with Team USA set to face Germany at 10pm ET. Lysell and Sweden, as well as Locmelis and Denmark, will kick off their tournament tomorrow, on August 10.
