It seems that more and more NHL players have left North America to return home in recent years.

This is exactly what Dallas Stars' GM, Jim Nill, announced about one of his top forwards on Wednesday. The team has officially granted a leave of absence for Denis Gurianov, and he will be out indefinitely to deal with family matters.

Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that forward Denis Gurianov has been granted an indefinite leave of absence from the team due to family reasons.

The team will have no further comment at this time.

Originally selected 12th overall by the Stars in 2015, the Russian winger has registered 46 goals and 53 assists in 239 career games. The 25-year-old had just 2 goals and 3 assists in 25 games this season before leaving the team.
