The Boston Bruins are sitting pretty at a 34-5-4 record and a 10-point lead for first in the NHL.

However, according to Jimmy Murphy of Boston Hockey Now, general manager Don Sweeney is looking to make a splash at the Trade Deadline.

As per Murphy:

''An NHL source has confirmed to Boston Hockey Now that reports of NHL trade talks between the Boston Bruins and Vancouver Canucks picking up recently are indeed true.''

Not only have the two sides talked, but Murphy also stated that Horvat has been atop Sweeney's list for a while now.

''According to this source, Canucks captain and center Bo Horvat has been the center of attention for Bruins general manager Don Sweeney.''

Horvat is enjoying a career-high pace with 30 goals and 18 assists in 43 games with the Canucks.

The 27-year-old could not only help for a long playoff run this year, but if the two sides work out an extension, a long term fix at center.

Unfortunately, the rumour is that it will cost a first round pick, maybe even two, and high end prospect to get a deal for Horvat.

With talks starting at Fabian Lysell.
