During Tuesday night's game between the Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning, NESN's Jack Edwards made fun of Patrick Maroon because of his weight.

(see below)
The hockey world is divided on whether it was just another odd sound bite from the Bruins broadcaster or if he should be punished for his insensitive or bullying comments.
Including NHL insider Frank Seravalli:
''A blowhard broadcaster fat-shaming a professional athlete and three-time Stanley Cup champion. Pat Maroon doesn't deserve that. No one does.''

''Go home, Jack. You actually sound drunk.''

Wednesday afternoon, Maroon himself replied to Edwards' comments, but he did it in the best way possible. The Lightning forward shared that he will be using the incident for a good cause:
''In support of those struggling with mental health, bullying and body image, I am making a 2,000 donation in the name of Jack Edwards to Tampa Bay Thrives, and I encourage Lightning and NHL fans to join me.''
