The red-hot Predators defenseman is having a stellar season.
With an assist on the Preds opening goal tonight, Roman Josi reached the 80-point mark in just his 64th game of the season.
Nashville's captain becomes just the fifth defenseman in NHL history to reach 80 points that quickly. Josi is also the first blueliner to do it since Al MacInnis reached the mark in 62 games, back in 1990-91, which is 31 years ago!
The feat itself is quite impressive, showing once again why Roman Josi is one of the top defensemen in the league today. But it does not come close to what former Bruins defenseman Bobby Orr did in his own playing days.
Boston's Hall of Famer reached the 80-point mark in 64 games or less an impressive six times in his Bruins career! Paul Coffey and Orr are the only two blueliners in NHL history to reach the milestone that often.
