The Boston Bruins got off to a decent start with a 5-2 road victory against a strong team in the Washington Capitals, but not just on a team level.

David Krejci recorded 1 goal and 2 assists in his return, helping him pass Wayne Cashman for sixth all-time in assists. Patrice Bergeron scored his fourth career first-team goal of the season (1 behind leader Dit Clapper - 5). David Pastrnak set a franchise record with 4 points in the team's first game of the season.

That brings up a good idea of looking at some personal milestones, as several Bruins players are well-within reach:

- Patrice Bergeron needs 17 points to reach 1,000 in his career.

- David Krejci must play 36 games for 1,000.

- Brad Marchand (currently on IR) needs 26 games to reach 900. And 5 points for 800.

- Taylor Hall needs 42 points for 700.

- Craig Smith needs 9 games to reach 800 and 1 point for 400 in his career.

- Charlie McAvoy is 22 points away from 200.

- Linus Ullmark needs 23 more wins to reach 100.
