It was an emotional night for Torey Krug on Tuesday.
He made his return to TD Garden for the first time since departing the B's.
Krug had been a fan favorite for years before leaving the Bruins.
However, when he left the Boston franchise, he did so to sign with the Blues - the same team that had just beat the Bruins in the 2019 Stanley Cup Finals.
Considering both those factors, the defenseman had to be nervous heading into the game, not knowing what kind of greeting he would get from the tough Boston crowd.
But the B's were all class, showing his some love with an emotional video tribute and making him feel right at home again. Playing in the same building he spent close to a decade in must've brought back a lot of memories for Krug.
As if the Blues defenseman's night wasn't magical enough, he found the back of the net against his former squad... on the same night he was celebrating his 31st birthday on top of that.
Check out his good-looking power play tally right here:
It was nice to see Krug back on the ice and back in Boston. Hopefully next time all he gets are a few smiles, but nothing to celebrate.
