New York Rangers defenseman Jacob Trouba has been at the front of a couple of controversial hits so far in the 2022 Stanley Cup playoffs. In the first round on Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby and early in the second round on Carolina Hurricanes forward Max Domi.

This time, it was on Hurricanes rookie Seth Jarvis on the receiving end of a massive Trouba hit in game seven.

The youngster Jarvis was visibly shaken up after the hit and had trouble getting back to the Carolina bench. To make matters worse, a Hurricanes player jumped on too early to replace him, and the team was given a bench minor for too many men. The Rangers would also score on the powerplay to make it 2-0.

Seth Jarvis left the game after the hit and has not returned as the two teams are in the first intermission.
