Evander Kane was involved in a very scary scene Tuesday night when the Edmonton Oilers were visiting the Tampa Bay Lightning.
After a collision near the boards, Kane fell on his back and Lightning forward Patrick Maroon passed by with his skate catching Kane's exposed wrist. The Oilers forward immediately put pressure on his wrist and allegedly yelled, ''Help! Help! Help!'' while skating back to the bench.
(You can watch the incident here, but viewer discretion is advised)
Gene Principe, who covers the Oilers for Sportsnet shared an update on Kane during the second intermission of the game.
''This from Edmonton Oilers GM Ken Holland on Evander Kane:
He has a deep cut on his wrist. He was stabilized and has gone to the hospital. Kane will have surgery on his wrist. He will be OK.''
A terrifying incident that you don't like to see anybody go through. It's reported that Kane most likely severed an artery and/or tendons in his wrist. Glad to hear he's stable and doing okay!
