The Boston Bruins were victorious over the Buffalo Sabres by a score of 5-0 on Thursday night. It was the club's final game at TD Garden for the 2021-22 regular season.

On a night of many positives, one shining moment was Linus Ullmark's first shutout as a member of the Boston Bruins. He stopped all 37 shots that were thrown his way, and to make things more special, it came against his former team.

Ullmark was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the sixth round (163rd overall) at the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. He made his debut in the 2015-16 season with the Sabres and spent six seasons with the club. He signed with Boston as a free agent this past summer to a four-year contract.

Ullmark spoke to the media about his first shutout against his former team:

"That was great. There are a lot of emotions obviously, playing your old team and puts a little bit more special feelings towards it. It was pretty close in my first game of the season, and I couldn't get it then, so I had to wait a full season, but, you know, like I said, I'm focused for what's to come now."

Ullmark also commented on his recent play heading into the playoffs:

"It's tough to say that it doesn't mean anything because it surely does, as you build a lot of confidence leading into the playoffs, and you don't want to end the regular season on a losing skid with no confidence. Obviously, that's a plus in my book, and we'll see what's happening and who we're going to play ... I'm excited about the opportunity to play for the cup, and that's what everybody strives for, to have that opportunity."
