Wayne Gretzky compares Cale Makar to Bruins legend
There is no doubt that Colorado Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar is a true superstar in the NHL right now.
After last night's impressive performance where Makar, who had 1 goal and 4 assists, became the first defenseman in NHL history to record five points in a potential series-clinching game, only two skaters have posted more points in that scenario: Wayne Gretzky (7) and John Anderson (6).
"The Great One" Wayne Gretzky made a huge statement on who he thinks Makar compares to on NHL on TNT. The one and only Boston Bruins legend Bobby Orr.
Makar now has 5 goals and 17 assists for a total of 22 points in just 12 games in the 2022 Stanley Cup playoffs. He also did a tremendous job at somewhat shutting down Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, who combined for 13 points in four games after 29 combined in five games in the previous series against the Calgary Flames.
