Prior to yesterday's matinee at TD Garden, longtime captain Zdeno Chara was honoured with a ceremonial puck drop.
Big Zee and his two sons, Zack and Ben, dropped the puck for Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron and Wild captain Jared Spurgeon.
Not long after the Bruins came away with a 4-3 overtime win, Chara shared an emotional post on Instagram, thanking the team for the honour from him and his family.
With the following caption attached:
''GREAT DAY TO REMEMBER WITH MY FAMILY
BROUGHT THE BEST HELPERS FOR THE PUCK DROP AS WELL
THANK YOU ALL !
WE ARE SO GREATFUL''
Next stop for Zdeno Chara? #33 handing in the rafters at TD Garden and a spot in the Hockey Hall of Fame!
