Reports have emerged that Pierre-Luc Dubois, the soon-to-be 25-year-old center for the Winnipeg Jets, has expressed his displeasure on staying with the team beyond his current contract.

With just one season left on his deal, Dubois has informed the Jets that he will not be signing an extension.

As a result, trade talks are expected to heat up this summer. While the Montreal Canadiens have been a long-standing potential destination, three other teams have emerged as possible suitors according to insiders, and surprisingly, the Boston Bruins are one of them..

In a news report by NHLTR, the following statement below was said about the connection between Dubois and the Bruins:

Boston Bruins

The Bruins have two gaping holes down the middle and will need some fresh faces next season. Dubois would be a great fit in Boston and can easily slide into one of the two top-six roles. One issue here would be what the Bruins could offer. Apparently Winnipeg is not looking at a full rebuild and wants to retool the core on the fly. This could mean Jake DeBrusk is in play.

The Carolina Hurricanes and Detroit Red Wings are the two other suitors for Dubois. The issue with Dubois? He has been in the NHL for six full seasons and has already requested two trades, and is now reportedly asking for a $9M deal. Each team has unique needs and assets that could make them intriguing trade partners for the Jets, but would the Bruins be able to make the cap work?
