Today marks the beginning of a back-to-back for the Boston Bruins, as they are preparing to take on the New Jersey Devils tonight, and are set to face off once again against the Ottawa Senators tomorrow after losing a 6-5 game to them just last week.
Head coach Joe Sacco issued a conflicting statement regarding his starting goaltender tomorrow, and it definitely makes things interesting.
Earlier today, following practice head coach Joe Sacco confirmed that Jeremy Swayman will be guarding the crease for the Boston Bruins.
Many believed that this meant Joonas Korpisalo will get the nets against his former team tomorrow, but that may not be the case.
During his media availability, Joe Sacco was asked because he is starting Jeremy Swayman today, does that mean Korpisalo will get the start tomorrow? His answer was an interesting one, he stated that it depends on how today's game goes.

I wondered if this might be a rare situation where Swayman gets both ends of a b2b. Two big conference games. If Swayman plays well and doesn't face a heavy workload, I'd consider it.
With the Bruins traveling to New Jersey, and then having to travel back home tonight or tomorrow, it's hard to imagine that Jeremy Swayman gets the start in both games, but we will have to wait and see what happens tomorrow.
