The Boston Bruins have insulted starting goaltender Jeremy Swayman during contract talks.

Ryan Whitney, a host on the Spittin' Chiclets podcast reported that the Boston Bruins and restricted free agent goaltender Jeremy Swayman are no where near close in contract negotiations.

It was reported the other day by Ryan Whitney that Jeremy Swayman is looking for a similar deal to what the Bruins gave Charlie McAvoy, 8-years at $9.5 million AAV.

Whitney also went on to report that the Boston Bruins latest offer to Jeremy Swayman was $6.2 million.

That's not even the worst part. The Spittin' Chiclets host also stated that after offering this deal to Jeremy Swayman, Don Sweeney the General Manager of the Boston Bruins went on to ignore his phone calls from Swayman and his agent for the next three weeks.

If this is true this is a horrible look on the Boston Bruins and Don Sweeney.

Ryan Whitney spoke on the situation during a recent Spittin' Chiclets podcast:

This situation could take a turn for the worst, and currently Jeremy Swayman holds all the leverage in this situation. We could even see a similar situation to William Nylander where he didn't sign an extension until the trade deadline, as Swayman has the same agent Nylander does.
