Following his departure from the Winnipeg Jets due to a buyout, Blake Wheeler has become a sought-after free agent with a preference for joining an Eastern Conference team.

In a recent tweet, Pierre LeBrun outlined four potential destinations for Wheeler: the New Jersey Devils, Carolina Hurricanes, Boston Bruins, and Florida Panthers.

The Devils, who are determined to build on their successful season, could benefit from acquiring Wheeler.

He would be a valuable addition to their third line, offering increased secondary scoring for the upcoming season.

The Hurricanes are in need of wing support, especially with Max Pacioretty entering the market.

Bringing in a seasoned veteran like Wheeler could prove advantageous for Carolina's lineup.

»Blake Wheeler, not surprise, has generated significant interest. I wonder about New Jersey, Carolina, Boston or Florida as possibilities. My sense is Wheeler and his camp still have to narrow list down today but one thing's for sure, he wants to go East.»

Having previously played for the Boston Bruins, Wheeler's return to the team could make sense, considering their loss of several free agents.

If Wheeler is open to signing at a reasonable cap hit, a reunion with the Bruins might be an appealing option.
