Bruins Captain Brad Marchand Issued A Statement On Newcomer Oliver Wahlstrom

Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand issued a major statement about new Boston Bruins player Oliver Wahlstrom.

Friday, the New York Islanders decided to place a couple of players on waivers, making them available to all 32 NHL teams in the league for free.

Elliotte Friedman announced that the Islanders had placed both Wahlstrom and Engvall on waivers.

Yesterday, the Boston Bruins decided to make a move and claimed Oliver Wahlstrom off of waivers. He did not get a chance to make his debut with the Bruins during their game on Saturday against the Vancouver Canucks, but he is expected to make his debut in the Bruins next game.

After being claimed off of waivers, Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand made a statement on the Bruins making the move.

Brad Marchand stated that he already spoke to Wahlstrom after claiming him off of waivers, and that the team is very excited to have him. Marchand also went on to say that he is a really good player, and that he is a fan of his game.

From Brad Marchand:

Brad Marchand on Oliver Wahlstrom, "I've talked to him already. He's excited. We're excited to have him. He's a really good player. I've always really liked his game. He'll fit (in with) the team well...He should be a great addition."

Wahlstrom is expected to make his debut in the Bruins upcoming game against the Calgary Flames.
