Newly acquired Bruins defenseman Nikita Zadorov came to his friend and teammates Elias Lindholm's defense as he took a subtle shot at the Vancouver Canucks.

Both players have decided to come over to the Bruins to become fixtures on the defence and the centre position. Zadorov who played with Lindholm in Vancouver and Calgary has grown a close bond with the 29-year-old center.

"It's a new opportunity for him. He got traded to Vancouver, he kind of didn't play the role he fits, I feel like. So in here, I feel like he can come back to his version when he was in Calgary with top line, top penalty kill and everything"

This comment was clearly directed towards Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet who style of coaching did not line up as well with Lindholm.

The Bruins are hoping Lindholm can capture his best production In his career which was with the Calgary Flames in 2021-2022. During that season he played 82 games, scoring 42 goals with 40 assists for 82 points and was a + 61.

Through 26 games this season with the Canucks, his numbers plummeted as he only scored six goals with six assists for 12 points and was a - 6. It's likely that his new head coach Jim Montgomery will utilize his skill set better and as Zadorov suggests he will be available to do everything that Montgomery wants.
