The Boston Bruins are struggling to find offence this year, and line combinations that seem to work, and Joe Sacco just announced a roster move that will bring Tyler Johnson back into the lineup tonight and take out Marc McLaughlin. Sacco also confirmed that Joonas Korpisalo will be in net for the Bruins.
Last game against the Vancouver Canucks Tyler Johnson was removed from the Bruins lineup, and Marc McLaughlin played in his first game with the Boston Bruins this year, but didn't take advantage of the opportunity. McLaughlin had one shot, three hits, and one block while playing 9:36 of ice time against the Canucks.
Now Tyler Johnson is getting a chance to prove to Joe Sacco that he deserves to stay in the lineup going forward. So far this year Tyler Johnson has struggled like the whole Boston Bruins roster and only has one assist in six games with the Bruins while being a +3 in plus-minus rating on the year.
The Bruins are in a tough situation because it seems like no lines are really clicking at the moment, but it might be in their best interest to send McLaughlin back down to the Providence Bruins in the American Hockey League and let him continue to develop down there for a bit.
Instead fans feel like if the Bruins were to recall someone from Providence it should be Georgii Merkulov or Matt Poitras as they have both earned a second opportunity to take a shot at the NHL level.
The Bruins are looking to get back into the win column tonight after being shutout by the Vancouver Canucks yesterday.
